Jesus wants your cash?

Hey, it’s Michael,

Did you know that your heart follows your treasure?

What a crazy thing to say! I mean the world tells us where your heart is, that’s where you put your treasure, but what did Jesus say? “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Think about that for a second. Our heart goes to where our treasure is. Jesus wants our heart.

He will not take it from you or trick you into giving it to him, he wants you to choose him above all else. Jesus wants you, all of you.

Here is the catch, treasure is far more than just money, it is time, it is effort, it is our family, and it is our very lives. Money is just the easiest most tangible way to view our treasure. Jesus wants all of this from you. Why? Because He wants to give you something even better.

“But why would I give up all I have?”

Because when we give up our finite and decaying stuff, Jesus gives us infinite grace in its place.

But let’s be honest, it is hard to let go. I promise you though it’s worth it.

One way to make letting go easier is to practice giving your treasure away, detaching its value from your self-worth. Spending your limited resources on the Kingdom without limits.

Your value is not in your stuff, your value is in Jesus life. We go from measuring our worth to being worthy, Jesus is the one who makes us worthy.

You can learn more about that in this phenomenal study by Bob Warren.

For centuries the truths of Romans 1-8 have been used of the Lord to transform lives. In my own experience, no section of Scripture has touched my life like these eight chapters. In teaching these truths over the years, I have been amazed at the life changing power of God’s grace.

One way that we can practice giving together is through our Common Ground Conference on July 29th. Sign up and be a part of something incredible!

This is a great way to learn and to serve as we become aware of various forms of poverty in our community.

When we Learn about the lives of people we encounter, it can bring us to a place of empathy and compassion. Our hearts changes, and we desire to share what we have to enrich peoples lives, especially by giving them the most important thing we have… Life with Jesus.

Spiritual Warfare together: How to Go Deep In Your Faith This Week

For the last few weeks we have been talking about living in the natural and supernatural, and how God works in both realms. And how we take part in the battle.

I invite you to join me a prayer time each day. at 9:01 AM and/or PM lets drop everything else and pray for just 1 minute. Pray God intervenes in Memphis. To stop the enemy from gaining ground, and for the church to go on the offensive and overcome the world through Jesus.

This will cost you nothing. It can give you treasure beyond your wildest dreams. A perspective like you have never had before.

We do this together, not alone, connecting our faith like a wall of shields.

Another way to practice this in community is by coming and being a part of rich fellowship and time together. This week we are having our Engage At the Table Lunch, where people bring food to share for lunch right after church.

Sign up for the EAT here to join us this Sunday.
